This is a stunning transformation by the people who created the Peninsula Gardens in Kas. They have taken a tired pension at the edge of Kalkan Bay and turned it into an irresistibly stylish all-suite boutique hotel.

Even as you arrive you can see the ambition and style the owners have brought to Likya Gardens. A shimmering waterfall cascades down the slopes of the gardens, with subtle illumination when darkness falls. The hotel has just six spacious suites .

For years, one of the downsides of staying in Kalkan was the daily exodus from the hotels to one of the local beach clubs. Guests at Likya Gardens have their own beach club, just a short stroll down to the water’s edge from their suites.

Likya Gardens has its own private beach club, at one of the most desirable locations in Kalkan. In a setting that recalls the Amalfi coast, you can bask under Moroccan-style cabanas, enjoying cocktails and snacks from the beach-side bar as you take in the fantastic views that this side of the bay presents.

As with Peninsula Gardens, the architects of Likya Gardens have made the most of the rugged shoreline on which the hotel stands. All six suites are stunning vantage points for the sea, the bay and the panoramic vista beyond.

All suites also have their own private pools. But these are not just plunge pools – they are almost big enough to be the standard pool at a private villa. You have masses of room to swim and splash, without having to share with your fellow guests.

The pools are set in their own private decks, with rattan furniture, cushioned day beds and shady gazebos. Each deck also has its own barbecue; we can arrange for a local chef to come and prepare a private barbecue dinner on your deck – local charges apply.

Likya Gardens does not have a dedicated reception or a restaurant. Instead, you have butlers on site – as well as your Elixir representative – who provide personal service throughout the day. And, of course, the day begins with breakfast, served until 11 am in the privacy of your suite or on your private deck.

Snack lunches are served at the Beach Club, with your private cabana to shade you. For dinner, you can either sample Kalkan’s remarkable bistros and restaurants – the best in Turkey outside Istanbul – or arrange for dinner to be served in your Beach Club cabana, with the shimmering sea and lights of the village all around.
